Open the door to the Christmas season with our natural wreath making workshop at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre.
Use locally gathered materials to create a unique decoration for your home and enjoy some festive hot drinks and nibbles beside our cosy wood burner. You'll learn how to make your own wreath base using green willow, then let your creativity go wild with foliage, berries, dried seed heads and more. A lovely way to get into the festive spirit and create a beautiful, sustainable wreath to take home.
All natural materials provided, locally harvested for you by us. Please feel free to bring your own extras – ribbons, ornaments etc if desired. All tools and equipment provided, but feel free to bring your own gloves and secateurs if you like. Suitable for over 18s. BOOKING ESSENTIAL

All you need to make a beautiful and natural wreath for your front door.
Support your local Wildlife Trust and create a sustainable eco-friendly Christmas wreath this year by purchasing our wild winter wreath kit! The kit includes everything you need to enjoy your own festive wreath making session with your family and come out with a unique decoration to adorn your door throughout the season. Kit includes a wreath base made of willow grown on one of our reserves, foliage and natural decorations, wire, and an exclusive link to an instructional video on how to make your Christmas wreath.

Nature, Natter and Nibbles, 6th December 2024, 10:30 to 12:00 at Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre (21.9 miles)
A peaceful stroll through the wonders of nature, with cake, hot drinks and good company.
Sutton Courtenay Environmental Education Centre is set on a lovely, hidden nature reserve tucked away behind Didcot Power station. With meadows, ponds and woodland there is always something to see from spring snowdrops to autumn colour, wary foxes to dancing dragonflies - we even have our own new demonstration wildlife garden!
Join our learning volunteers for a peaceful, gentle stroll around the reserve, stopping to appreciate whatever takes your fancy. Visit the bird hide, peep into the ponds, look for sparking frost and crunch in the leaves. Hot drinks, cake and biscuits are provided, along with good company and conversation. The sessions are relaxed and informal with the option of a shorter route if you prefer. Come alone, come with a friend, bring your baby in a carrier - all welcome! Come and soak up the nature in friendly company!
The centre is accessible by car, bike and public transport (buses to Milton Park, and trains to Didcot Parkway with a regular bus link). You are welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy in the picnic area after the event.
